A Nigerian podcast host known as KAA, the presenter of KaaTruths Podcast, has shared details about an incident he said occurred on February 26, 2025, when he received his first-ever police invitation following an interview he conducted on his show.
According to KAA, the photograph above was taken on that same day he was invited by the police. He explained that the invitation allegedly came after he hosted a former pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, who spoke about his experiences within the church during the podcast.
Petition and Police Invitation
KAA claimed that a petition was submitted against him by Paul Adama, alongside the founder of the church, Paul Enenche.
He said the petition reportedly accused him of wrongdoing simply for hosting the interview and listening to the former pastor’s story on his podcast platform.
The podcast host stated that after the interview was conducted, an invitation letter had been sent to Pastor Enenche requesting that he either appear on the podcast himself or delegate a senior church representative to share the church’s perspective on the matter. However, KAA said the response he received was not an interview acceptance but rather a police invitation issued from the office of the then Inspector-General of Police.
Pattern of Legal Petitions
In his remarks, KAA further alleged that this incident was not an isolated one. He claimed that several petitions and court cases filed against him in the past had also come from religious leaders.
According to him, many of these cases were filed after he interviewed individuals who made statements critical of certain religious institutions. He emphasized that, in his view, the legal actions were not necessarily based on things he personally said, but rather on comments made by guests he hosted.
He also claimed that invitations had often been extended to the pastors involved to present their own perspectives during interviews. However, he alleged that some of them either responded with legal petitions or initiated court cases which, according to him, were rarely pursued to completion.
Criticism of Religious Leadership
KAA used the situation to criticize what he described as a culture of intimidation and influence within parts of Nigeria’s religious space.
He argued that while many citizens openly criticize politicians for abusing power, some religious leaders may exhibit similar behavior when confronted with criticism or uncomfortable discussions.
In his view, some religious figures may consider themselves too prominent to participate in interviews, yet still pursue legal or police actions against critics.
Reflection on Nigeria’s Public Discourse
The podcast host also expressed concern about what he described as hypocrisy within Nigerian society. According to him, people often condemn injustices when they are carried out by political figures but may overlook similar actions when they involve individuals they admire or support.
He argued that public reactions to issues often depend on personal loyalties rather than objective assessments of fairness or justice.
Commitment to Podcast Mission
Despite the challenges he described, KAA said he remains committed to the mission of his podcast. He explained that the goal of the platform is to interview people from different backgrounds and perspectives in order to better understand how they think and why they hold certain beliefs.
He noted that the podcast seeks to host a wide range of guests — including critics, supporters, believers, skeptics, law enforcement officials, and even individuals involved in controversial situations.
According to him, the podcast’s role is not to take sides but to ask questions that encourage audiences to think critically and make informed judgments for themselves.
KAA concluded by reflecting on the irony that the podcast, which he said brings little financial reward, has required more personal sacrifice than some of his business ventures that fund his livelihood. Nonetheless, he expressed satisfaction that the platform has remained committed to open conversations and diverse viewpoints.
