JAMB Releases Results of 632,788 Candidates from Day One of the 2026 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of 632,788 candidates who participated in the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
This marks the beginning of the result release process for this year’s UTME, as the examination continues nationwide. Candidates who sat for the exam can now check their scores through the approved channels provided by JAMB.
How to Check Your 2026 UTME Result
JAMB has maintained its SMS-based result checking system for convenience and accessibility. Candidates are required to follow the steps below:
- Send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019
- Use the same phone number (SIM card) that was used during registration
Once the message is sent, candidates will receive their results directly via SMS.
Important: At this stage, candidates can only view their results. Printing of result slips is not yet available but will be enabled later.
Strong Warning Against Result Manipulation
JAMB has issued a strict warning to candidates and the general public regarding the manipulation or falsification of UTME results.
Candidates are advised not to tamper with the SMS results received from the official JAMB platforms (55019 or 66019) in an attempt to:
- Inflate scores
- Mislead parents or guardians
- Share fake results online
Such actions are considered serious criminal offences and will be treated accordingly.
According to the Board, two candidates and one parent are already in custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
JAMB emphasized that anyone found guilty of such misconduct will face full legal consequences without exception.
Ongoing Examination and Continuous Result Release
The 2026 UTME is still ongoing across various examination centres nationwide. JAMB has confirmed that results will continue to be released in batches as the examination progresses.
Candidates who are yet to receive their results are encouraged to remain patient and continue checking through the official SMS channels.
Final Thoughts
The release of over 600,000 results on the first day reflects JAMB’s commitment to timely processing and transparency. However, candidates must ensure they follow official procedures and avoid any form of malpractice that could jeopardize their academic future.
Stay updated as more results are released in the coming days.
