Teni Challenges Tiwa Savage to Boxing Match
Teni recently sparked reactions online after publicly challenging senior colleague Tiwa Savage to a boxing match.
In a viral video, the “Fargin” singer jokingly imagined herself facing Tiwa Savage inside a boxing ring.
Teni said she would be ready to fight Tiwa and humorously described how determined she would be if she became angry during the bout.
The singer also suggested that the fight could attract a huge financial reward, mentioning ₦1.5 billion as a possible purse.
Her comments appeared to be made in a playful manner while discussing the earnings and expensive lifestyles of Nigerian entertainers.
Teni also joked about using the money to purchase a Bugatti, adding another humorous angle to her challenge.
Why Teni Mentioned ₦1.5 Billion
The proposed ₦1.5 billion figure has generated considerable interest among fans.
However, it is important to clarify that the amount was part of Teni's playful discussion and has not been officially announced as the confirmed purse for an actual boxing match.
There is currently no official announcement confirming a promoter, venue, contract, rules or financial agreement for a Teni versus Tiwa Savage boxing event.
Therefore, fans should not interpret the ₦1.5 billion figure as confirmed prize money at this stage.
Tiwa Savage Responds to Teni’s Challenge
The biggest twist came when Tiwa Savage responded to Teni's challenge.
Instead of ignoring the singer's invitation, Tiwa responded in the comment section with three simple words:
“Pick a date.”
Her response immediately generated reactions among fans, with many interpreting it as Tiwa being willing to entertain the idea of the proposed celebrity boxing match.
The short response has therefore turned what looked like a simple social-media joke into a much bigger entertainment conversation.
Is Teni vs Tiwa Savage Boxing Match Confirmed?
At the moment, there is no officially confirmed date for a Teni vs Tiwa Savage boxing match.
Although Tiwa Savage responded positively to Teni's challenge, reports indicate that no official promoter, contract, venue, rules or confirmed purse has been announced.
This means fans will have to wait for further developments before concluding that the two music stars will actually enter the boxing ring.
For now, the exchange remains a playful celebrity challenge that has attracted significant attention online.
Celebrity Boxing Becomes Popular in Nigeria
The Teni and Tiwa Savage exchange comes at a time when celebrity boxing is attracting growing attention in Nigeria.
Recently, reality TV star Phyna faced Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos as part of the Chaos in the Ring series.
The event helped generate further interest in boxing matches involving Nigerian entertainers.
Other entertainers who have featured in celebrity boxing-related events include Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.
With the increasing popularity of these events, fans are now wondering whether Teni and Tiwa Savage could become the next major celebrity pairing to step into the ring.
Teni’s Rise in the Nigerian Music Industry
Teni is one of Nigeria's popular Afrobeats singers and songwriters.
She rose to prominence following the release of songs including “Fargin”, before achieving wider recognition with hit songs such as “Askamaya,” “Case” and “Uyo Meyo.”

Her energetic personality and humorous social-media presence have also contributed to her popularity among fans.
What Fans Are Saying About the Proposed Fight
The possibility of a Teni versus Tiwa Savage boxing match has naturally generated excitement among entertainment followers.
While some fans see the exchange as harmless celebrity banter, others are already speculating about what an actual contest between the two singers could look like.
Tiwa's “Pick a date” response has particularly fueled the conversation because it suggests that she is not completely dismissing the challenge.
Nevertheless, until an official organiser confirms the event, fans should treat the proposed bout as entertainment speculation rather than a confirmed boxing event.
